New Look for OmniScale Toys: First Pass!

New Look for OmniScale Toys: First Pass!

I’ve spent the last couple of days trying to figure out what the new brand should look like. After a few Google searches for color inspiration and some soul-searching into what Omni, Scale, and Toys actually represent, I ended up with the layout shared in this post.

Let me explain why it looks like that!

New Look for OmniScale Toys: First Pass!

I know what you’re thinking… it basically looks like the old brand with just some new typography! So amateur, zero design skills, eww. Haha! You are right! I have no time and this is the best solution I have at the moment! To be fair, I’m no graphic designer. My basic Photoshop skills date back to pre-2010. Also Photopeia online is not doing a premium job after checking the exports! In my day job, I usually just pass styling notes from Figma over to our app while I develop. But I digress!

For context, I’m keeping the old mascot for now! Honestly, I’m not sure I’ll ever replace him. I’ll probably just give him a glow-up and stick close to the original design for sentimental reasons, mostly because I designed him myself using basic shapes until he started looking like a Gundam head. It felt very fitting for my old brand, GundamPH.

As for the colors in the name? They just resonate with me. I’ve been deep down the fountain pen and ink rabbit hole lately, and I’m really vibing with shades of orange, teal, and blue. Frankly, the combination looks neat.

Anyway, this will do for now. I’ll keep cleaning things up and updating the OmniScale Toys brand as we go. Mission accomplished for today! The old site branding is officially replaced, new header images, and everything finally looks OST. (Yes, that’s the official new acronym).

P.S. – if any of you have suggestions on our dear mascot, feel free to drop some comments.

Catch you later,
Omnicollector
